Business TV – Tom Smith advertising on social networks
Hear expert business advice from Tom Smith, Research Manager, EMEA, at Universal McCann, as he reveals how one should approach the development a strategy that will encourage usage within social networks:
“There are so many ways you can work with social networks but increasingly it’s not just about advertising it’s about having a presence in the place is where consumers interact and doing that in a way that feels credible and relevant.
So whether you can create a page of inner social network and be there but actually giving people a reason to be involved sort of as creating content that you share on your page and get users to interact with or you create applications that users can load on to their social network pages creates a genuine usage for them and makes their page more interesting or makes their life easier online.
There are some good examples like Intel created a page on MySpace that was a collaborative music project. So people could who were pitching for a place in a band could create a super group out of the best entrants. So it’s kind of rather than just being an advert on a social network it’s actually kind of acting how you want to be seen and kind of creating stuff and getting people involved. So acting how you want to be perceived rather than just talking about it.
I think business should really jump on this idea and involve their users and open themselves up to getting more people involved and have done very well.
We looked at Facebook, and they have actively got their users to collaborate with them to translate the website into hundreds of local languages around the world, you know that was done by charge by the users.
Another good example is a video rental company in the US called Netflix which were trying to improve their recommendation system that recommends new films that you should borrow and they opened it up to the general public and developers and put a million dollar prize on it and said come and create a better recommendation system for us.
So it was about collaborating with the wider community and being open with them. They shared all their data and they are going to get a better system out of it by being open and being active and being involved with the wider world.”

can you really make money off blogging?
How do you make money off blogging?
you can make money off bloging by having horny sexy chicks compete in a chocolate cage match to the nakedness. where each chick has on a bathing suit, the one to rip the others clothing off first is the winner.
If your good at pulling pranks, you might make some money, but it has to be original and crazy as batshiit.
most people dont care to read aboutyour life, I just give you excellent oppurtunity with the ideas above as a means of traffic.
If your good, you can blog on one computer and have a friend click the shiit out of it from another computer. atleast make money for the pot you know.
How do people make money blogging? what sites do they use?
They build up an audience by writing often about whatever the focus of their blog is, and sign up for Google’s Adsense or a referral progam like rewardfish.com (for example, if they have a page about games).
If people click on the Google ads or go to the advertised site and buy a product, the blog owner makes money.
And of course a select few are well-known enough that they’re paid directly to blog.
I myself use wordpress (wordpress.com – they give out free blogs) for my blog and rewardfish.com (because my site is primarily about games).
Do people actually make money by Blogging, and if so, How?
I was wondering if you can really make money by Blogging? How do you learn to do this, if indeed this is true? Do you need extensive computer skills? thanks to all…………..
They make their money mostly from advertisements. If a blogger is good and has a lot of readers, they could get advertisers on their site. Bloggers should have at least basic computer and web skills.
for some reason I cannot get sound when I try to watch a news video or any blog video and my speakers are fine?
anytime I try to watch a news video or any blog videos or even site videos, the sound comes on for about 2 seconds and then the sound is off, and yet I have very good connection of speakers and good speakers. I can’t hear any sounds after the first 2 seconds of a video and it is downloaded.
Try to uninstall flash and then re-install the latest version.
Who has done this: A) Chavez B) Putin C) Obama D) All of the above – read on for question, Okay?
In today’s modern world of Socialism going back to the Socialism of the 20th century – can you answer who done it – multiple choice and you can choose more then one. Reference is from http://history.howstuffworks.com/european-history/dictator.htm/printable and http://money.howstuffworks.com/socialism.htm and http://history.howstuffworks.com/cold-war/communism.htm and http://history.howstuffworks.com/european-history/fascism-movement.htm
1) Media – suppression and domination – They can’t handle a word of opposition so they make sure the media is in lock step with their propaganda and if not wage war with the non-compliant media organizations using methods of intimidation, antagonism and general smearing in the state run or media that is lock step with the powers that be.
2) Attack your political opponents – Calling people slanderous name, making up lies about them, and smearing them in the state run/ lock step media.
3) Nationalize key industry – the state knows best so they have the government take over industry deemed vital
4) Healthcare – Approached at first as a sign of caring for the less fortunate it quickly becomes a tool by which to garner support from the masses and to deny care to those deemed a financial drag on the country like the elderly and even the mentally ill.
5) Welfare state – Make the people look to you for their economic needs. Through various social programs money is provided in the name of the "great" leader.
6) Institute and mobilize a "civilian army" of concerned citizens which is unaffiliated with the countries’ military yet under the direct control of the leader.
7) Spying on own citizens – the leader ask his people to report those who disagree with the leader.
"cult" personality – devotion or patriotism is focused away from the state and is instead focused on the leader usually in the form of hero worship – "he is the only one who can save us" ect.
OKAY – KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE 8 CHARACTERISTICS OF ACTIONS TAKEN AND NOT ABOUT IDEOLOGY THUS ONE CAN TAKE SAME ACTION AS THAT OF SOMEONE WITH TOTALLY DIFFERENT IDEOLOGY AND POLITICS.
Here are a list of names and you may either name who fits all of the above categories or you can go name by name and type 1-8 which ones apply: Example answers: t, s, w, y, z or T 8, 9 W 8,9,10 Y all of above and so on.
Your choices are:
A) Obama – USA
B) Chavez – Venezuela
C) Putin – Russia
D) Fidel Castro – Cuba
OR all of the above
Napoleon is considered the first modern dictator and keeping in mind the era lacked our modern healthcare fits all of the above categories minus the 1 mentioned. Hitler also meets all of these categories and was democratically elected.
Extra Credit:
E) Fujimori – Peru
F) Noriega – Panama
G) Musharraf – Pakistan
H) Idi Amin – Uganda
I) Sadaam – Iraq
J) Mussolini – Italy
Also see: enlighten absolutism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enlightened_absolutism
Hitler and other famous socialist would be too easy of answers.
you left out Leopoldo Galtieri and Francisco Franco.
If you are talking elected officials, you can’t count Chavez or Castro, there is only ever one name on the ballot and write ins get you hunted down and beaten to death or imprisoned for half a century.
Fujimori was an anomaly for Peru. a japanese man running a latin country *scoff* no wonder it didn’t work out. and Noriega was a worthless campesino. farmers should never lead nations, it makes for poor yields.
and questions one through eight could all be all of the above. mobilizing the masses, obama has openly talked about raising a civilian army. that’s how castro took power, that’s how chavez was reinstated… i’m not sure about putin, but i know he used his popular support on ideas of reminiscing over russia’s former glory.
all of them have nationalized big industry inside of their borders. chavez went as far as to ATTEMPT to nationalize spanish interests, at which point the spanish government said they would withdraw all of their investments and demand compensation of market value of their lost extra territorial integrity… that shut chavez up.
all of them have spied on the citizens. putin is former KGB for the love. obama and nepolitano came out with their lists of homeland terrorists, which included republicans. castro has secret police and it is even said that the government has a paid informant in almost every household.
cult personality. they all give grandiose speeches and all have funky hand gestures that drive their followers wild. you’d think it was the beetles getting off the plane in detroit for the first time.
attack political opponents, refer back to obama’s list of domestic terrorists, all of which are republicans or people who espouse poilitical ideals that do not agree with his own. chavez and castro allow only one political party. putin, once again, former KGB.
welfare state: castro has the world’s largest food rationing program in the world, wonder why so many cubans are malnourished. chavez gives out what his regime calls, "the daily bread", because he wants people to believe he is the second coming. obama is very clearly all about putting everyone on the dole, health care paid for by the wealthy for the poor?
media suppression: state owned media in all these totalitarian regimes except the usa, but now obama is talking about it.
mussolini was a weak idiot. he is exactly what you would expect from an italian dictator. pasta belly, funny hat and an ugly bald head. mare nostrum indeed! i wish he had made a move on spanish morroco or the balearics. franco and salazar could have helped the allies end it a lot quicker.
p.s. you also forgot antonio salazar.
Car bombs the next alleged "WMD" excuse?
"Car bombs are cheap, simple and deadly. Ever since an Italian anarchist named Mario Buda packed his horse-drawn wagon with explosives and killed forty people in Wall Street eighty-seven years ago, the devices have been the favourite tool of terrorists around the world. The American urban historian and social theorist MIKE DAVIS has written a history of the car bomb, or “the poor man’s air force”, as he calls it. Buda’s Wagon: A Brief History of the Car Bomb is published by Verso." UNQUOTE
A bit worrying if George W Bush’s advisors consider a car to be a potential WMD… woohoo another excuse to invade ANY country in the world..
George W Bush, as the ELECTED LEADER of USA, and, in the highest Office of the land should have come out with the truth of why he ordered troops to invade Iraq instead of allowing political and media spin to manipulate Joe and Jane Public.

Excuse??? EXCUSE???…LMFAO…what excuse, and "woohoo"??? thats probably one of the more literate things ive heard a liberal say recently. your bunch never quits does it?
Its so easy for you to read the pelosi playbook and forget a few facts.
1.) If Clinton had kept it zipped up and attended to the us cole bombing, the african embassy bombings, the first wtc bombing or at least six separate bonafide chances to capture or kill bin laden with the express help of sudan, we wouldnt be in this mess right now. Clinton had eight years to take care of wtc, Bush had less than six months. Clinton didnt do diddly, Bush responed WITH LIBERAL ENDORSEMENT…and weve had no sucessfull attacks on domestic soil since.
2.)Considering Clinton had GUTTED any funding for middle east intelligence gathering as he was busy dismantling the military in the early ninties liberal left wing extremists had EXACTLY the same intelligence information available as Bush did, examined on it and voted on it…This incidently by looking at the congressional record included HILLARY CLINTON who has never disavowed the vote to date and John Edwards that last monday flipped flopped on it.
3.)advisors??? specifically who has indicated that the car bomb is a wmd. Could that be the bi partisan commitee ( with left wing extremists) that produced the report offering a surge as one of the options open to the president. I noticed that the names of the advisors in your "opinion" are clearly absent.
4.)Who indicated that the insurgents are backed by "poor men". Al qaeda is far from poor and far from unmotivated. Al qaeda successfully financed, planned and executed the most deadly act of war on us soil in us history. This is not an act of anyone examining a theorists beliefs. This is a cold calculated act of mass murder that correctly was examined as such and treated not with the cowardice of the pelosi cut and run, but thank god with firm definitve action. If the alternative is to whimper behind our borders as al qaeda and the "poor mans insurgents" (as you imply) plan the next attack, no thank you, id rather fight them here and now and not have to cringe in fear everytime i board an aircraft..
5.)a "bit" of worrying is it. wow thats deep. perhaps you might want to rethink that analysis. Two countries known to harbor terrorists now have nuclear capablilites and have obvious plans to develop and use them. To me, the launch of a nuclear missle is real, deadly and vividly effective in destroying the west and furthering al qaedas goal of muslim revolt and takeover.
6.)Media spin???? wow…LMFAO…what media spin. If anything, the media hasnt missed a beat to villify Bush and jump on the pelosi/reid regieme bandwagon. we hear constantly of death counts, your beloved car bombs and extremely little of the good we do there…media spin…..lmfao..thats rich. you want to see media spin…ill show you media spin. our last president used media spin effectively to take media attention off of just a few facts of his presidency…this is MEDIA SPIN.
- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
EXPLAIN AWAY THAT MEDIA SPIN…..
as the elvis song says..maybe whats needed here by the left wing extremists is a little less conversation. non binding resolutions and a redo( god help us miami and dade arent alone) of the 2002 troop authorization arent going to accomplish anything. the problem is real, deadly and needs more attention than burying your head in the sand and hoping it will go away as the pelosi/reid regieme wants to introduce. If your so willing to support our troops and find a way out of this than why did the pelosi ..ites block the resolution not to cut funding already in place. that answer seems more than a bit obvious.
you need to leave political analysis to people that are involved and understand it and leave the pelosi press releases where they should be…at the fish market as wrappers.
